It is the ultimate test of sporting ability, but this London Olympics will provide extra difficulty for some Muslim athletes.
For the first time since 1980, the summer Games coincide with the holy month of Ramadan.
Many have reluctantly decided they will not be able to fast and still compete at the highest level.
