James Renton is Professor of History and Co-Director of the Racial Justice & Migration Research Group, Edge Hill University, UK. An historian of antisemitism, Islamophobia, empire, and global politics, he is, most recently, the author of 'Holocaust Memory and the Universal Sovereignty of the Liberal Democratic State' in the Journal of Genocide Research. He is the editor of Islamophobia and Surveillance: Genealogies of a Global Order (2019).
