Dirdeiry M Ahmed studied law at the universities of Khartoum, London, Oxford and Leicester, where he obtained his PhD. In addition to his scholarly books, published by Cambridge University Press and Global News Insight Centre for Research and Study, he writes articles in international law journals and is a prolific writer of Arabic language op-eds on international affairs of Sudan and its region. He held the position of Foreign Minister of Sudan for a brief period. Currently he teaches international law at the University of Khartoum and practices law.
