Karjoo-Ravary received his PhD from the University of Pennsylvania and writes on the history of Sufism and its influence on politics, material culture, and literature, including speculative fiction. He is currently a Visiting Fellow at the Bard Graduate Center. Ali is also an editor at ajammc.com.
